I am in HEAVEN! Babysitting Gracyn for the first time! She is napping in Mommy's old crib from when she was a baby! A full circle moment! Ahhhhhh!

With Gracyn in a sitting position when she feeds, this boppy hasn't been used too much.... until today! She is snoozing on the boppy!

3 WEEKS OLD!

Dear Gracyn,

You are growing up wayyyy to fast already!  Time is flying by!  If I had to guess, I bet you are close to 10 lbs by now!  You do what babies do best....Eat, Sleep and Poop!!!!  It is rare that we get a picture with your eyes open!  When they are open, you try your best to focus both eyes together and look at us or objects.  Often the ceiling light or fan will catch your gaze!  

Mommy and Daddy can tell the difference between your poop cries, pay attention to me cries and hungry cries....you are communicating your needs and wants with them already!  

Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy sent me a video of you interacting with them for the first time.  You even smiled when Mommy talked and played with you....and it wasn't one of those gassy or dreaming smiles....it was a real smile! 

You are holding your head up for a few seconds at a time, and will turn your own head from side to side on your own.  Soon Mommy will start tummy time with you, but we have to wait until you are awake for more than a feed and diaper change!   Speaking of sleep, you go about 4 hours between daytime feeds and will sleep 5-6 hour stretches at night!  YOU ARE AN  EASY CONTENT BABY!

Bath time with Mommy. She loved the warm water!!! (With a natural birth and no stitches, Mommy has no restrictions and is able to enjoy the bath with you! Lucky Girl!)

17 DAYS OLD- DOCTORS

This little cutie pie had a follow up visit with the pediatrician for jaundice. She is fine! When she left the hospital her weight went down to 8lbs 11oz and now she weighs 9lbs 11oz. She is a healthy girl thriving on Mommy's milk!

16 DAYS OLD- MOMMY'S LITTLE CUPCAKE!

15 DAYS OLD- MOMMY AND ME!

Haha... Love the Halloween shirt! Look at this big baby! Her feet already hang over her bouncy seat!

TWO WEEKS OLD- MANY FACES!

Gracyn is two weeks old already! Isn't she a beauty? And oh the faces she makes! Sometimes she looks like Daddy and other times I think I am looking at Mommy! One thing we have noticed is that she has a birthmark on the back of her head just like Daddy!

Gracyn is growing quickly (but then again she was a big baby to start with!), she has outgrown her newborn clothes! She wears size 0-3 and 3 month clothes comfortably. Gracyn also will move up to size one diapers as soon as the last few newborn diapers are used up! She drinks about 4 oz. of breast milk about every 4 hours. And some 5 hour stretches at night! She is a very easy going, content baby! Mommy is still producing a good amount of breast milk when she pumps... Between 8-10 ounces each pumping session! She tries to pump once or twice a day to build a stash of frozen breast milk for when she goes back to work!

In the development areas, Graycn seems to be on track! The only area that we have a concern in is her eyes.....I know many newborns have weak eye muscle control and often cross one or both eye....as does Gracyn. The only reason I worry that they will not correct themselves is the fact that lazy eyes run on both sides of the family....My mother (great grandma), me (grandma), Aunt Courtney (Mommy's sister) and Uncle Zac (Daddy's brother) all have lazy eyes! :-( I am happy to see them getting stronger by the day as you can see in the photos below....so saying prayers that her eye muscles will continue to strengthen!!!!! In the big picture of possible problems this is a minor, correctable issue that is not life threatening....so praising God that we have a BEAUTIFUL healthy baby!!!!! P.S. Gracyn sneezes just like Daddy! Multiple sneezes at a time! TOOOO CUTE!
