BELLY DROPPED!

 

The belly dropped AGAIN.....Now Mommy finds Gracyn's heartbeat down low, low, low in the center rather than on the side....The baby must be migrating into position and engaging in the pelvis!  Pretty exciting.  The contractions continue on a regular basis from 2-5 minutes apart....but Mommy can still talk through them.  As of tomorrow.....SINGLE DIGITS UNTIL EDD.....9 DAYS AND COUNTING!

38w4d-BABY BUMP

The belly grew another 1/2 inch! Up to 44" around! UGHHHH, the stretch marks are over taking the belly.....this makes Mommy very sad, but you are worth it.

38w3d- OB VISIT

Blood pressure 124/80 :-)

Trace of  protein  :-/

30 lbs ??? :-)

140-150 BPM. :-)

Severe Swelling  :-(

Severe Pitting Edema  :-(

Blood sugars -ok with insulin. :-)

NST- Reactive! :-)

Fundus-38 :-)

Stripping of membranes- not ready  due to posterior cervix :-(

Cervix- 2cm :-)

75% effaced :-)

38w3d- OB VISIT TONIGHT

The smaller contractions are back with a stronger one here and there....Nothing to write home about just yet.....praying for cervical change at the OB appointment tonight!  FINGERS CROSSED!

38w1d- UGHHHH!

ZERO contractions today (other than the usual BH)....UGHHHH!!!!

38w0d- MORE CONTRACTIONS!

When Caitlin got up in the morning, the contractions were minimal..... By 11:00am the pace and severity picked up .... By 6 pm they were 2-4 minutes apart and bringing her to tears. By 8 pm checked into L&D....60% effaced, posterior, baby's head not engaged, still 1cm maybe 2cm dilated with a contraction..... And then.......CONTRACTIONS..... STOPPED! Back home we went! :-(

38 WEEKS PREGNANT!!!

Dear Gracyn,

Mommy is still here and PREGNANT!  She is trying everything to induce labor early.  One of them was drinking castor oil yesterday morning.  YUCK!  .....She did end up in L&D around 6pm with regular contractions....but no progrss.... :-(  Not sure if the old wife's tale had anything to do with the onset of stronger contractions or not......

Mommy has another OB appointment on Thursday....if she makes it that long....Praying that the cervix is thinning and opening up wider!  The BH contractions just need to turn into stronger contractions  that make her cry to get the show on the road.  If for some reason there is no change in the nether region....the latest we will meet you is in 14 more days!  WOOT!

37w6d- VISIT TO L&D

Contractions about 2 minutes apart for 3 hours before Caitlin and Joey decided to call OB ....He suggested she get checked out. The cervix is posterior but is finally dilated to 1cm ! After two more hours of the same contraction pattern, she was checked again.....NO PROGRESS! He sent her home. :-(. He gave her a therapeutic relaxant so Caitlin can get some rest tonight. If this is real labor, she will know when she wakes up....with hopefully stronger contractions......if it is false labor, then she may be in this pattern of stronger BH for a period of time, or they may stop. ....She is to call when the contractions bring her to tears.....right now they just make her eyes water!

37w4d- BABY BUMP

THE FULL TERM BELLY! Getting bigger by the day! The belly grew 1/2 inch in one week! Measuring 43.5" around. The stretch marks are over taking the belly despite ritual lotion applications! :-(. Induction is a few weeks away.... Unless little Miss Gracyn decides to make her appearance earlier! The countdown is on!

Contractions during NST .... Much stronger today, yet no change in the cervix and baby's head is not engaged yet   :-(  (Insert SAD Mamma face)

Maximum of 2.5 more weeks! 

Induction  scheduled on hospital calendar 9/24/12.

Mommy has contractions all day...everyday....but she can still talk through them.....the ole "trap door" better be cracked open at tomorrow's OB appointment or Mommy will be VERY SAD!

37 WEEKS- FULL TERM!!!!

Dear Gracyn,

Wow!  Full Term!  To be honest with you, I had some doubt in the beginning of the pregnancy when Mommy experienced all the spotting and was on modified bed rest for almost 4 months due to the placenta previa!....And here we are......FULL TERM! I am beaming as I write this!

If Mommy went into labor now, your lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb.  You probably weigh around 7 1/3 pounds and measure  around 19 inches, head to heel.

Mommy has been having Braxton Hicks contractions all day...every day for several weeks now with little progression in the nether region!  :-(  She is hoping to see signs of imminent labor such as loss of a mucus plug, bloody show, water breaking or some serious timeable contractions that she can not talk through!

Next OB appointment is on Thursday for an NST and cervical check.....  Mommy is giving you an eviction notice, so there better be something going on or she will be one sad lady leaving that office!  HA!

Mommy's favorite season is Fall! Today we made a wreath for the front door..... in between all the BH contractions! Haha!

YAY!  September is here!  FINALLY....23 days until EDD!

36w5d- FAMILY

Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Thompson and Uncle Zac before they took him back to college for his sophomore year! He is a premed student! We are all very proud of him!

Mommy's belly is measuring the same this week at 43" around, but it looks lower than last week with stretch marks galore. :-/ FULL TERM IS JUST DAYS AWAY :-)!!!
