GUEST BEDROOM MAKEOVER WITH CHALK PAINT!

Caitlin had this bedroom set as a teenager and needless to say she was rough with it! The veneer was scratched and chipped in many areas. I actually felt bad giving it to her because it was in such bad shape....not to mention CHEAP! But Caitlin had a vision which included painting the furniture. After googling ways to paint furniture, I stumbled onto Annie Sloan's chalk paint .... but hated the high price! Then I stumbled upon DYI chalk paint made with plaster of paris! We love the results!!!! For those of you interested the key is the final step with waxing the furniture for protection. I used Minwax paste/polish.

NEW THINGS!

Little Miss Gracyn has turned her wonderful sleeping habits during the night upside down! :-( Over the last 6 weeks, it has been like the newborn stage again.  She refuses to sleep in her crib.  Hopefully this phase does not last long.  Mommy and Daddy are tired!

On a positive note, Gracyn continues to take a few steps here and there on her own.  She is still very dependent on cruising furniture or holding on with one hand.....but every once in a while, she gets brave and lets go!!!

Yesterday during the YOUR BABY CAN READ VIDEO....Gracyn followed along and pointed to her body parts.  She now follows the video with smiles, mouth, belly, head, ears and "sings" with the music while she dances.  Way toooooo cute!

11 MONTHS OLD!!!

Wow, how can this be? You are growing up wayyyy toooo fast! Here are some highlights of this past month:

*Holds phone to ear

*Says ouch and dog

*Says mooooo

*Please give ____to Mommy, she gives it!

*Mommy says Night night and Gracyn will wave!

*Prefers baby bath and not tub will cry in tub unless sitting on a mat!!

*Walks with push toy by herself!!!

*Blows kisses. 

*Wants something- points and says hmmmm?  

*Wants a bite- takes paci out of mouth and smacks her lips.

*Went on first vacation- first tan!

*Walks holding one hand. 

*Took first few steps on own!

*Grinds teeth! :-(

*All table food and breast fed 4 times a day. - refuses purees.

* Points to Mommy's booby for milk!

*Loves to dance!

*Calls out for Mama and Dada when she wants their attention!

*Gracyn learned how to sign  "more" :-)

*Kicks legs while swimming and swinging

*Use finger to push buttons and use on ipad (Tries to play iPad games!)

*She has 7 teeth

*Size 4 diaper

*9-12 month clothes

*2.5 size shoe

*No longer sits still in grocery cart or highchair.

*Shares well!

*Tries to put her shoes on :-)

This month marks a turning point in breast feeding. Mommy is cutting out the dinner time feed and in a few weeks the lunch time feed, now that you are completely on table food!  Mommy is sad but she knows the time is right. 

This will be a busy month for all of us, gearing up for your first birthday!
