10 WEEKS OLD!!!!

This little cutie pie is 10 weeks old. She laughed out loud for the first time today for her Great Grandpa Richards! Mommy was sad, because she missed her first laugh since she had to work today :-(. Mommy said that she did see one of Gracyn's firsts at church last Sunday, when she reached out to touch Grandma Thompson's scarf..... :-).

2 MONTH CHECK UP!

I guessed it right! Our little one is thriving on Mommy's breast milk weighing in at 12.1 lbs and 23" long! After two shots Little Miss Gracyn was an unhappy camper. She had a crying jag for about a half hour and the only thing that calmed her was her Lovey that I made for her! Melt my heart!

2 MONTHS OLD!!!!

Dear Gracyn,

You are officially 2 months old today!!!!!  Here are some of your unofficial stats..... We will know more when you go to the doctor next week for your next round of shots:

Approximately 12 lbs 

Length - Guessing 23"

Size 2 diaper

3 month clothes

Size 1 shoe (Tiny feet!)

5 oz of expressed breast milk.

 Still breast feeds every 3-4 hours during the day.

Coos and started drooling

Sleeps through the night!

 You usually sleep 7 hours through the night, but recently you gave Mommy a much needed 10 hour stretch now that she is back to work!!!!  You have recently started rubbing your eyes when you get tired at night....Tooooo cute! 

You are mimicking our sounds with different coos and your smile lights up the world! You are also very aware of your surroundings, such as the bird mobile on your bouncy seat, the fan and the TV!  You will stare, smile and coo at them!  Sometimes you try to coo and nothing comes out....but I am guessing that by the time I post your 3 month update, you will be a chatter box!

Today was Mommy's first day back to work. All went well. Little Miss Gracyn did what she does best...eat,sleep and poop on schedule! Mommy was able to take a lunch break and feed her! Plus Great Grandma (who is babysitting) made Mommy lunch! Doesn't get any better than that!

8w0d- WHAT! NO BOW?

8 WEEKS OLD!!!!!

Dear Gracyn, 

Today you are 8 weeks old!  Even though you are 8 weeks, your official 2 month turn date is 5 whole days away!  So we can't say you are two months old until then!

You are changing quickly!  The number one thing we have noticed is that your hair is starting to grow back....you lost most of your newborn hair rather quickly!  Your face is starting to clear up also.  Mommy noticed that when she used the lovely smelling pink baby lotion on your face, you would break out.  :-(   Since she switched to Arbonne baby lotion, your face started clearing up quickly.  Yay!  She also started washing the grown up clothes in ALL CLEAR liquid detergent for sensitive skin while continuing to wash yours in Dreft.  

You continue to entertain us with your beautiful smiles.  You also entertain yourself with your hands....and at times suck on your fingers when the pacifier is not handy!  You try really hard to roll from back to front, but stop on your side and get stuck!  You absolutely hate tummy time and prefer to give up and fall asleep!  So I am guessing rolling from tummy to back is not in your near future! HA!

Mommy goes back to work on Wednesday!  Time sure did fly by!  And she even got an extra two weeks maternity leave with you!

7w6d- LOVE THIS SMILE!

OUR LITTLE SNOWFLAKE!

Your Mommy is soooooo talented! She made this snowflake outfit for $15.00 after gathering ideas off of etsy.com. The onesie is a t-shirt from Walmart and the bows, leggings, iron on sheets of metallic paper cut in to snowflakes, and the tulle for the tutu all came from Hobbie Lobbie!

She had enough iron on scraps to make matching shirts for her cousins Nevaeh and Alexis, plus one extra onesie in a size larger....for growth spurts this winter! Mommy and Daddy decorates their large Christmas tree with blue and silver......just think how cute it will be to put all of the grandkids in front of the tree in their matching snowflake shirts for Christmas pictures!!!! (By the way, the baby blanket you are laying on is the one I made for you!)

7 WEEKS OLD!

Dear Gracyn,

You are 7 weeks old tomorrow!!!  It seems that as I look online to see what a 7 week old baby should be doing, you have started doing them!  For example you are now staying awake for longer periods of time!  Mommy and Daddy are seizing these awake times and are interacting with you through play, exercise or just plain old fashion story time!  Speaking of exercise time...you ARE NOT a fan of tummy time....Your legs go a mile a minute while you lift your head now and then....but after a while, you give up and just lay there or cry!    You hold your head up very well when "sitting" or "standing".  Your little legs are so strong as you demonstrate some of your weight bearing skills.  You continue to use both eyes equally and are tracking objects well.  We rarely see your eyes cross now!  YAY! And I can't forget those adorable coos and smiles! Simply precious!

Your sensitive skin issues continue to plague us....one day you are close to being rash free and the next day your face is red and bumpy .....poor baby!

On a good note.....You are sleeping through the night with 7-9 hour stretches!  This makes Mommy and Daddy very happy!  Mommy actually jokes that she will get less sleep once she goes back to work next week....Not because she will be up with you, but because she will have to get up early to get ready for work!  You certainly have spoiled her!

You are the best baby!
