12.5 MOS- WALKING

Gracyn is walking EVERYWHERE!  She also likes to go up and down the stairs like big people do!  Of course she needs help when she tries that move.....the funny part is that she picked up on Great Grandma "grunting" as she uses the stairs, so Gracyn thinks that you need to "grunt" with each step!!!!! It is hilarious to listen to her walking up and down the stairs. We will have to get a video of it!

12 MOS.- TWO WORD SENTENCES!

Guess who decided to talk more!  Gracyn says Hi Dog! Hi Dad! And waves at them!  Toooo dang cute!  She also took about 10 steps today walking from me to grandpa!  Even though she has the ability to walk, she still prefers to crawl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Dear Gracyn,

Exactly one year ago today, you stole my heart... All 9.4 lbs and 21.6 inches of you!!!!  Today you have turned into a spunky little toddler!  Not sure how tall you are or how much you weigh but I am confident the doctor will be happy with your growth spurt.  You even feel heavier to me.  You are wearing 12- 18 month clothes, size 3 shoes and size 4 diapers!

You are now saying a few words....the newest word is YES!  However you still point and babble a lot for the things you want and sign the word More on a consistence basis.  When you don't get things that you want or hear the word NO you will break into an instant cry and bury your face.  At times it hard not to laugh but we refrain so we don't encourage you!   You are very smart!  You point to most of you body parts on command such as your head, eyes, ears, hair, belly, fingers, hands, feet,  and toes!  

You are a good eater ...You also love to put food on the floor or feed the dogs!  You are eating 3 meals a day (table food) with cups of juice and whole milk.  Just last night Mommy stopped the bedtime feed, and you didn't even miss it because you love your cup of milk instead.  I think the breast feeding weaning has been harder on Mommy than you!  It sure was a special time of bonding between the two of you!!!!  Mommy feels blessed that she was able to breast feed you for a whole year!!!!

Your favorite new skills are practice walking (4-5 steps unaided), climbing up and down the stairs and taking things out of drawers and then putting them back in again.  

One thing that Mommy and Daddy miss is their good little sleeper. For the past two months you have regressed in your sleeping pattern.  You now wake several times a night vs. sleeping 10-12 hours straight.  At first we thought it was your teeth....now we don't know what to think!  :-(

JUST CHILLIN!

MINNIE MOUSE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!

Wow! What a BEAUTIFUL day for Gracyn's 1st birthday party!!!! As you can see Mommy and Daddy went all out to celebrate this special day! I made Gracyn's outfit. The guys put together Gracyn's swing set, which was a gift from all of us! The girls all worked on making decorations and food. And the weather was perfect for all the guests to enjoy their time!!!!

MINNIE MOUSE CAR!

Can you tell Caitlin loves Pinterest! She found several "how to" blogs on converting a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe into a Minnie Mouse Mobile! Here's a shortened version on the steps:

1. Find a car at a garage sale or from a friend as a hand me down!
2. Take car apart and cover the steering wheel and tires with plastic bags.
3. Spray paint! 2 cans of red and black plus 2 cans of a clear coat.
4. Add self stick 2.5" circles
5. Make ears and bow out of plywood, spray paint and screw to roof of car. (THANKS UNCLE DAVE!)
6. Let cure over night and enjoy!!!!!

Gracyn stands by herself and takes several steps on her own but once she realizes it, down to a crawling position she goes! Here she is walking holding Daddy's hand and his pocket! LOL!
