7 MONTH UPDATE

Dear Gracyn,

Over the last couple of months, we've noticed your growth spurts have slowed down….not sure if you've gained any weight lately but you are definitely getting longer and leaner.  :-)  You still fit comfortably in 6-9 month clothes, size 3 diapers and size 2 shoes.  Your hair continues to come in VERY SLOWLY, now rather than peach fuzz….it looks more like a 6:00 shadow!  haha!  Mommy tries to keep bows on you so everyone knows you are a girl, but you are not cooperating very well in this department.  Your new game is to take your bow out and hand it to your Mommy with a smile….or play with it!

You are very mobile now….You roll everywhere!  Sometimes you even scoot backwards.  We haven't noticed any real crawling position yet, but I'm sure that skill is just around the corner!  You now sit unassisted and are very sturdy!  You love to sit and play with your toys, while jabbering up a storm!  I wonder what you are saying to your toys!?  You are becoming very independent by eating foods with your fingers, such as puffs, mum mums and some vegetables and holding your sippy cup….you also try to hold the spoon and your tooth brush!

You are starting to understand the meaning of language!  When we call your name, you will look at us!  You will give us high fives, and wave when prompted.  You also say MaMa.  We think you might even know what MaMa means because you will cry and say MaMa when you want her.  We also believe you understand the word NO, because we will see you hesitate before doing something when we say NO….even though you don't always follow the command, you have the initial understanding.  :-)  You love to "talk" with squeals and sounds such as chains of consonants like mmmmm, bbbbbb, and so on…..sometimes I hear you say ba and da….but mixed in with squeals, giggles, raspberries, bubbles and smiles!  We love  listening to your voice!

Mommy's new toy for making baby food. It steams and mixes all in one! Only draw back, Mommy likes to make larger quantities and freeze them. This makes smaller servings but is easy to use!

6.5 MONTH CHECK UP!

The doctor gave Gracyn an A+ for reaching all her milestones and gave Mommy an A+ for breastfeeding and making her own baby food !!!!! Gracyn is a healthy baby!!!!!
