4m6d- NEW SKILLS
Mommy always mimics the Your Baby Can Read video by talking to Gracyn and saying.....Hi! My name is Mommy. Well that constant conversation coupled with the videos is helping Gracyn in making those connections. Everyday at lunchtime, Mommy shows up at Great-Grandma's to feed Gracyn......Grandma always says ...."Where's Mommy?" Today, when she asked "Where's Mommy?" Gracyn turned her head and looked her way. They did this several times....each time, Gracyn's eyes would travel to Mommy!
Today was another first........After Mommy feeds Gracyn, she grabs a quick bite to eat, snuggles with Gracyn and then leaves......well today Gracyn caught on to the routine.......Each time G. Grandma held her hands out to take Gracyn from Mommy, she would bury her face into Mommy's chest, as if to say NO.......Awe!!!!
As for the Your Baby Can Read Video.....she watches it everyday! In fact, this is the only thing that still calms her down if she is toooooo tired and fussy to feed. Mommy pulls the youtube version up on her phone and Gracyn watches it while she feeds! haha!

4M1D- SKILLS
Guess who just rolled over from her back to her belly!!!! Several times!!! In a matter of a few days, she has shown off her rolling skills both ways! Little Smartie! :-)

4 MONTHS OLD
Dear Gracyn,
Seems like yesterday I was writing about Mommy being 4 months pregnant.....now you are 4 Months old!!!!! Time flies! You are just over 14 lbs., wearing size 2 diapers (almost size 3), 3-6 or 6 month clothes depending on the brand, size 1 shoe. You are on a great schedule of feeding about every 3-4 hours, long naps during the day and sleeping up to 11 hours at night!!!!!
You are a very strong baby. You love to "stand" and you are able to sit in your jumperoo, and walker for a short period of time before you get bored. You love to lay on the floor on your playmat (on your back) and grab at the toys. You even reach for and hold toys, which always go directly into your mouth! Lately you started taking your pacifier out of your mouth to smile or "talk" to us! Yesterday you even tried to put the pacifier back in your mouth after an impressive conversation with me, which included mimicking my oooohhhs an ahhhhhs, raspberries, and sticking tongues out.....Pretty impressive skills!
Just before you turned 4 mos. old, you rolled from your belly to your back!!! Your newest trick is sitting for a very short time unsupported between Mommy's legs, before you topple over. You even started scooting forward on your playmat while on your tummy by pulling your legs up under you and lunging forward....but your arms and hands don't know how to work together with your legs yet.....it won't be long. In fact I bet when I write your 5 month post, I am bragging about your pre-crawling skills! We'll see!
You are cooing, giggling and slobbering all the time! We probably go through 4-5 bibs a day, just to keep your clothes dry. At about 3.5 months old, you started showing interest in table food, so Mommy took your lead and started you on rice cereal by spoon....you LOVED it! A few days later she tried oatmeal and now has worked up to your first fruit....bananas....you continue to do GREAT! You are still breastfeeding like a champ....Mommy is even getting comfortable about feeding in public....modestly covered of course!
Last week we had your church dedication. Typically your are a happy go lucky baby....that is until the pastor took you out of Mommy's arms......your bottom lip puckered and quivered as real tears flowed.......you sure do love being with Mommy and Daddy and it showed! Speaking of Daddy you are his clone!!!!....you look just like him, but you act like Mommy did when she was a baby.....a happy and content little one.....still a very easy baby!
